Since we are chatting about guy termination. Is it Ok to use a 3/8” Big Grip on a single guy
anchor rod without using a shackle or thimble? It was suggested that I needed a thimble at the rod
end, but that’s not even possible without an intermediate shackle of some sort.

I was assuming the anchor rods were the kind with the 'fist" ends, which
are made to have multiple wires wrapped through them. I thought he was
going to use cable clamps or compression sleeves, not big grips. That
sort of install is fine for a 60' tower.

Why is no one suggesting asking Rohn what they recommend?
There was a tower a few years ago that fell - because the wrong thimbles
were used and it caused the preform to fail.
I would never climb a tower that did not have the proper Rohn
installation.
