Rob, when you set the rotor to North, you didn’t mention if the rotor was set
with south centered or north centered. Did you align the rotor to north by
rotating it clockwise rather than rotating it counterclockwise? If so then it
will only rotate counterclockwise on a south centered.
Sounds like a physical rotation is needed.
As always my old memory is in play so your case might be completely different.😏

So when you say that it worked properly on the bench, I assume that you mean
it rotated completely from south to south and then you set it to north prior
to installing. If this is a Hy-Gain rotator their mast clamp needs to be
shimmed for most common mast diameters. Perhaps the mast is jamming?

Hi all -
Question that's hopefully got a simple answer. I have a bell rotor that was
recently overhauled. I hooked it up to my controller before installing it
on the tower and verified that everything worked properly.
I set the rotor to north before putting it up, and oriented my beam that
direction. When I try to rotate it, the rotator will only turn to the South
counter-clockwise. If I try to go South clockwise (i.e., turn it to the
east) it will stop at North. I've verified that the coax isn't hung up on
anything and that there's no obstructions.
Any ideas? I wondered if perhaps the rotator is mounted 180 from where it
needs to be and I just need to go spin it around or something.
