| Balun Designs recommends and sometimes puts weep holes on the bottom of
their balun boxes. I had some cable junctions in an 8" 'waterproof'
electric PVC box. I traced a failure of the connections in the box- IT
WAS FULL OF WATER!!!. Drilled weep holes in the bottom after that.

My strategy is no coax connectors out on a boom.  Feedpoint ferrite
chokes are in a PVC junction box with coax in thru a watertight gland
and two glands out for short #10 leads to the feedpoint. So no
exposed solder or connectors or nuts on plastic to loosen.

Not a bad idea, it's how we construct stack switches here. It's way
easier to weatherproof an in-line splice than a panel jack.
I've never figured out how to really make an S0239 watertight.  It
rains a bit here in Seattle.

I leave a way for a little moisture to leave the box. My box cover
faces down. I leave the cover gasket off, and I don't tighten the
cover excessively.
