and appendix on bonding/grounding communication facilities that seems
like pure gold.
Take the recommendations of R56 (the motorola document) or the
comparable document from the FAA, the IEEE grounding books, etc. with
some grains of salt when applying to an amateur station.
They're talking about commercial, safety of life 24/7 availability stations.
They are also not typically super "material cost" sensitive - in a
commercial environment the dominant cost is labor - whether you use AWG
10 or AWG 2 wire doesn't affect the total system cost very much.
As a result, some of the standard commercial practice comes from a
background of "how to get the job done quickly, with predictable cost"
