UST HDX-572:
I used automotive grease on the exposed anchor bolts / double nuts, that
was 16 years ago. The base was buried in snow several months each
winter. When I took the tower down last May to move it the nuts came
off with no fuss or stress.
Installed new anchors at the new QTH. Exposed anchors / double nuts
sprayed with cold galvanize, non galvanized embedded anchors went in
bare . No snow and little rain at this new QTH.
The UST specs don't call for coating the embedded anchors, nor did the
Professional Engineer that inspected the anchors / rebar cage make any
comments on coating the anchors.

Bob,
The installer who did my tower used plenty of NeverSeize on the non
galvanized bolts and nuts and I had no problem removing them 12 years
later. I was surprised to find them prepared that way but very thankful.

I have some non-galvanized bolts/rods embedded into a concrete base

short tower mounting plate.
What would you recommend to coat them in to keep corrosion/rust
demons away?
They are composed of hardened 5/8 x 18 threaded rods (non-galvanized)
and
the bolts are used for adjusting the tower for plumb, so I'd like to
preserve the ability to adjust them at some point again. So
something that
would leave the nuts still adjustable down the road is preferable,
even if
has to be re-sealed/coated at that time its fine.
Suggestions?
