I totally concur with Harry. I have an FTDX-5000MP, IC-775DSP, and FT-1000D.
They excel when used in conjunction with a Hy-Gain HG-54HD 54' tower and a
Force12 C-4XLD yagi.
I agree with the statement "A poor radio with a great radiation system will
consistently outperform a great radio with a poor radiation system."
I think that a vertical is a great thing to have along with a yagi. However, if
I had to choose between the two, I would opt for Mr. Yagi.
