Naw, it was way before that. REAL DRIVERS had to hand crank their own
engines, just like my dad did. Back then an arm in a sling was a proud
symbol of a REAL DRIVER, just like a 20 wpm certificate is today with
hams. The electric starter was the downfall of the entire automobile
industry.
