| This brings back old memories. Back in 1970 I had a tower exactly
like this, was 65 feet tall and worked great. Very easy and cheap
to weld together, me and my dad made it out of scrap we picked up
at the local junk yard. I put a 2el spider Quad on top and worked
the world, was the first reel tower I ever had.

Looks interesting. Is that what you are using on your quad? Do you guy
it?

I've sent a pic of the tower to Mark seperately. I've also put a copy
of it
at http://www.iol.ie/~bravo/Well Casing Tower.htm if anyone is
interested.

When I was a teenage ham in the 70s with little means, there was an
 article

floating around, I'm pretty sure it was in an old ARRL Handbook, aboutbuilding a freestanding mast out of well casing. Can anybody point
me at
any resources about this? I need to make one.

 Thanks.
