Hello all,
I just checked the cinch plug on my Hygain Ham IV rotor and it was green
with corrosion! When I installed the new rotor back in May of this year, I
used the heat shrink tubing, wrapped this with electrical tape, then
covered this with a layer of plastic tape, followed with another layer of
electical tape. I thought I had done a pretty decent job of
"waterproofing" my cinch plug, but was amazed at the amount of corrosion
after only 6 months. After seeing this, I think the old screw terminals
are better!
My question is how or what can I use to better protect this plug? Is there
any special waterproof tapes available that are REALLY waterproof?
All suggestions appreciated!
