Lightning always strikes both ways.... the step leaders come down from the
cloud until they get close enough to the earth to connect to your tower...
that is immediately followed by multiple return strokes from your tower to
the cloud level ... you best have a half dozen ground rods spread out and
everything properly bonded to the tower to survive this..
I suggest that everyone go through the archives for cq-contest... there was
an extensive discussion of lightning, physics, grounding, etc within the past
year.. also, get the Polyphaser catalog/handbook... a wealth of
information...
