Hi Tony,
"Slip on" isn't really the right word... If an F connector slips onto RG-6
very easily its probably the wrong connector. On the other hand,
sometimes its very difficult to insert quad shield RG-6 into an
F connector without a connector insertion tool.
There are a variety of inexpensive connector insertion tools that help
to drive an F connector fully onto RG-6, such as:

You probably don't have a connector insertion tool otherwise you
wouldn't have asked about how to solve this problem. This procedure
will work as an alternative, I'm sure there other alternative techniques
that others might share with you.
Tighten a vise onto the end of the RG-6, using the entire width of the
vice so the compression is distributed over as much of the cable jacket
as possible. Leave just one inch of RG-6 hanging from the end of the vise.
Tighten the vise just enough to firmly hold the cable without crushing it.
You may need to protect the cable if your vise could puncture the cable
jacket.
Drive the male F connector onto the end of the cable as far as you
can by hand. Then thread a female F chassis connector onto the end
of the male connector. You can now use a hand tool to grab the
female F connector to fully seat the male F connector onto the RG-6.
The connector isn't fully seated until the foam dielectric and bonded foil
are flush with far end small diameter hole it inserts into.
Even better would be to make your own connector insertion hand tool
by attaching the female F chassis connector to an aluminum plate or
tubing. If you're going to install more than a few F connectors its
worth spending a few dollars on a connector insertion tool.

RG6 quad shield coax with PE jacket? I'm using Belden Snap-N-Seal RG6QS
compression connectors but they're nearly impossible to slip on far enough.
I've tried removing the outer braid and foil and still no luck. Maybe I should
be using different connectors? The coax I'm using for the beverage is Commscope
F6SSEF / 4561804.
