Thanks. Too many years ago, near Tofino, BC, it was noted that a 1500' wire
running perpendicular to the shore (and even with several hundred feet over
salt water, leading to an offshore island and peninsula) seemed to provide
reasonable signals from overseas medium wave broadcasters, while a similar wire
running along the shore line didn't. However, these are anecdotal, and for
different overnight periods; definitely worth carefully repeating the exercise,
if the area wasn't now overrun with tourists.
