True enough!

Collins predated all with DSP in the  HF-2050, a marvelous receiver of which 
only about 1200 were built.

I had one, wish someone could achieve its level of audio quality in a modern 
radio.

You needed an air conditioner in the room to run it though - all discrete IC’s 
for the whole thing.
