The visual lower profile of coax is appealing to many new hams who don't understand feedline losses and the wide range advantages of parallel lines. Also, at least in USA, most new hams come to ham radio via the Technician license and operation on the coax dominant VHF/ UHF bands. When they finally explore HF,they also find coax feed common for dipoles and beams and "all band" verticals.
