Except that some haven't found the lighting from the LEDs so nice.
Unfortunately a single LED lights in only one direction while an
incandescent lamp puts out nearly a sphere of light except through the
base. When the lighting system is designed for that near omni light
source, the narrow beam of the typical LED often doesn't give equivalent
illumination. One wishes the whole meter scale illuminated, not just the
presence of a glow in the back of the meter case. Were changing to LEDs
that simple they would have taken over for all other light source this
year. That may take a while longer to get the dispersion AND the light
levels.
