I do fail to see what makes the activity "misguided". Or how not
having a CW exam is going to make a wit of difference.
Maybe not "misguided," but with new HF operators coming aboard with
no CW knowledge, the "investigation" of modes is thus reduced. No
way to go except to try to make FONE more interesting since who can
stand to listen to typical SSB for hours on end? (Gag, choke!):-(
