There is also the concern that bypasses for BPL sigs would bypass other
power line RFI like the drill motor noise someone posted. In addition,
increasing levels of RF in the wide environment will mix with other signals
giving various and difficult to pin down mixing product frequencies that
could fold back into HF, even if BPL was higher than our bands or notched.
Finally, the bypasses leave one more line of failure for power surges to
bypass the filtering action of your line transformer and a lightning surge
to come more easily into your shack destroying your computer and all your
equipment that is plugged into the power line. Another reason to always
pull the plugs when operations are over!
