I just fired up my OPTION 3 upgrade for the first time and now I wish I had
a Triton, too! In my case they remembered the manual pages but seem to have
forgotten something more important. My Omni no longer hears or transmits! I
just spent $275 to convert a high performance rig into a very expensive
white noise generator!
So far the obvious checks don't show anything. Connected to a dummy load the
rig doesn't even draw more current when keyed, let alone produce output.
Connected to an antenna I hear nothing except audio noise when the gain is
cranked all the way up. I can change the envelope by manipulating the new
dsp controls, but I had hoped to actually work something other than noise!
I wonder if these upgrades were checked at all before they went out the
door?
Drat!
