It appears that the clubs could have benefited from registering team(s)
for this event. I offered to do it for anyone, but no one responded.

This Week's Contests:
1. North American QRP CW Club July Straight Key/Bug Sprint.
0030Z-0230Z Thursday (Wednsday night local). 20, 40, 80M CW. 5W
maximum power. Exchange: RST, SPC, NAQCC# or power. Multiply score by
2 for hand key and by 1 1/2 for bug.
2. NCCC Practices. SNS: 0200Z-0225+ Friday (Thursday night local).
20, 40, 80M CW. 100W maximum power. 1 kHz QSY rule. Speed limited to
18 WPM for first 10 minutes and to 26 WPM thereafter. Exchange: #,
name, SPC.
New NS ladder series starts same night 0230-0259Z. 20, 40, 80, 160M CW.
100W maximum power. 1 kHz QSY rule. No speed limit. Exchange: #,
name, SPC. Note that for this series (not for the actual NA Sprint
contests) DC is a separate multiplier from MD and PJ2/4 is allowed as a
multiplier even though in South America. KE3X is expected to be QRV
from DC. If your logging program won't accept DC as a multiplier, lot
it as "MD" and edit your Cabrillo file later. You will need to refigure
your score to add a multiplier on each band that you worked both DC and
MD. If you don't work MD, your multiplier and score will not change.
3. RSGB Islands on the Air Contest. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. CW, SSB.
80-10M. Exchange: RS(T), serial #, IOTA# (if any). Work everyone, not
just stations on IOTA islands. No contest operation permitted on:
3500-3510; 3560-3600; 3650-3700; 14060-14125; 14300-14350. This one can
be a lot of fun. The next weekend is a split weekend with no big
contests scheduled, so better enjoy this one this weekend. Remember
that K4ZGB will be QRV from an Alabama IOTA island and KU8E/M will be
QRV from the GA St. Simons Island group.
4. Tuesday night QRP 20M Fox Hunt. Two Foxes will be CQing between
14050 and 14070 CW. 0100-0230Z Wednesday (Tuesday night local). 5W
maximum power. Exchange: RST, SPC, name, power. Wrok only the two foxes.
5. Straight Key Century Club (SKS). 160-10M CW. 00-02Z Tuesday July
28 (Wednesday night local). Use mechanical key (hand key, bug, cootie
or sideswiper). Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, SKCC# or power. I will be
out of town and will miss this one, so hope others of you will give out
the GA multiplier.
Have a good week and weekend. I'll be out of town attending a seminar
most of next week, but will try to keep up with e-mails.
73, John, K4BAI.
