So? All I was doing is what I said - what you quoted: Offer JT some
historical perspective. Why are you jumping on me?

Almost.

1 - Not my vision - the founders' - primarily Bill Fisher
2 - I think being competitive w/r/t the club submission is FB. Goals
are fine - *long* before you moved to Georgia we were doing that

You're apparently a little paranoid there, Jeff. I've never labeled
you a trouble maker. Maybe that's something you see in yourself. And
you're *much* more vocal on the reflector than I am.

What you see as "improvements", I often see as counter to the original
intent of the club. I only point that out...you seem to take it
personally. I merely support the status quo - well at least the
orginal intent. Did you even read (COMPREHEND) my last paragraph?

"As time went on, some folks wanted more than just a score repository /
online hangout. From that we've gotten a club call, sponsorship of
the GA QSO party, sponsorship of plaques in other contests, etc. Most
of which I, personally, disagree with - because of the contradiction
to the original purpose. I'm not saying they're bad things because
they're not. But they are contrary to the spirit in which the SECC
was founded."

The "outburst" I referenced were the personal attacks displayed on the
reflector. Again, I didn't pay much attention to them, but they
seemed to be primarily between JT and Ed. The "Alabama" deal is
apparently what precipitated your posting about moving the circle. If
the two are related, I missed it. As I said, I was out of town and
not following the discussions.

Well, maybe you should have handled it differently. Note that I have
made no comments one way or the other regarding your circle-moving
proposal. That said, the first thing I knew of the guys (and really
all I know about it - I'm not going to go off reading their reflector)
in Alabama starting an AL club was your post saying we should move the
circle. I think a better approach for you would have been to make a
polite inquiry on the reflector about whether this was widely known,
what were the reasons for it, etc. Instead your post sounded like
this: "The guys in AL have left, let's shift the circle, to hell with
them". IMO.

It is no wonder, as you said:

> A number of Alabama members also seemed to be pissed at me because they think
> that I am implying that they are not wanted in the the club anymore...

You've said that before Jeff. More than once I believe. That is your
choice. I think you're a fine operator and appreciate the scores you
put in for the club. But I'm not gonna kiss anyone's posterior to get
them to stay. That's part of the political BS we chose to *try* to
avoid when we started this group. It is what it is.
