1. For most of us, the big contest is ARRL DX CW. It runs the full 48
hours of Saturday and Sunday UTC. US (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) send
RST plus state or province. Others send RST plus power. Club
competition for aggregate score. Hope to hear you all in there over the
weekend. PJ4R will be 1/3 by SECC member Jeff, KU8E, from Bonaire in
the Caribbean.
2. Incredibly, the annual YL International Single Side Band System CW
QSO Party is also scheduled for the 48 hours of this Saturday and
Sunday. (Why not do it on SSB when the big international contest that
weekend is on CW?) They will have their SSB weekend on March 13 and 14.
Any HF band. Exchange: Call, RST, s/p/c, and YLISSB # if you have one.
They require two 6 hour off periods (for sleep I guess). They have an
address for paper logs and say that e-mail logs will be accepted (no
more than 10 pages will be accepted!), so don't make too many QSOs!

3. 2004 Colorado QRP Club (CQC) Winter QSO Party.
2200 UTC Sunday to 0359 UTC Monday Feb 22-23. This will be a good one
for those of you for whom 48 hours isn't enough or who will be out of
town most of the weekend but will return for Sunday night. Exchange:
RS(T), s/p/c, first name, CQC # or power output if no #. CW and SSB.
Suggested frequencies: 1825, 1910, 3560, 3985, 7040, 7285, 14040,
14285, 21060, 21385, 28060, 28385. Multipliers are s/p/c per band (not
per band/mode) (but stations may be worked for QSO points on both modes
per band). No one may run over 5 watts output. There is also a
multiplier (possible 26) for different first letters of the names worked
(for example working John would be a count for the mult "J", etc.) You
could have gotten sample log and name mult checksheets for a SASE to
KG0PP. I have suggested for several years that these sheets be made
available for dowloading on the internet site and they have agreed it is
a good idea, but they haven't made them available that way yet. You can
make your own, of course. For info:
http://www.cqc.org/contests/winter04.htm.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and a lot of QSOs.
73,
John, K4BAI.
