Regardless what particularly you ask for a repeat, you will only get what
people had pre-programmed before the contest. If there is just a single
macro containing a full exchange, that's the only thing you can get.
We can only hope, more people would read this discussion and prepare more
macros next time. Unfortunately it is rather wishful thinking. There are
way more RTTY contesters than subscribers to this list...

Last weekend, in 19 out of 20 cases when I sent

NR?
NR?

I received an exact repeat of the original exchange message rather than just
the serial number I asked for. Less than 5% of stations replied with only
their serial number when I asked for only their serial number.

BTW, when I am asked for a repeat, even if it is "AGN AGN", I only send the
serial number. No one has ever insisted I resend 599 or their callsign.

If you ask for a repeat, you are likely to get a repeat of everything. But
if you specify what you want repeated, then you should only get that.
