Good point Jim. I have the standard can recessed lights in my office with
screw in LED bulbs - I believe Cree, no noted issues.
You also reminded me - I should call the EMI lab I use for product testing.
They recently converted to LED lighting in some of their chambers. I'll ask
what they used.

Yes, several. First, limit your choices to line-voltage fixtures that
accept an Edison (the standard) bulb. Then choose bulbs from major mfrs
whose bulbs are less noisy, and the specific bulbs from those mfrs that
have been tested and found to be quiet. Retired EMI engineer has set up
a serious EMI lab at home, and has tested a bunch of bulbs. He has
offered to test others if I sent them to him. The brands I buy are
Phillips and FEIT. Some of these are quieter than others.
If your architecture permits, consider track lighting, with the same
requirement for line voltage track and bulbs.
About ten years ago, a retailer started exhibiting at west coast
hamfests with long strips of LEDs on a spool, designed to work from
12-24VDC from a single end feed. They also sell thin metal fixtures with
the same electrical configuration, designed to be mounted to surfaces,
and with connectors allowing them to be ganged together if desired.

I do NOT recommend their power supplies. :) Rather, buy our build one or
more linear PSUs that are known to be quiet. BTW -- many (most?) of the
regulated wall wart/line lumps I've tested recently have been noisy,
perhaps using PWM for regulation.
