It's critical to remember that THIS is what matters, not proximity to
the shack. W6GJB's contesting trailer operates with two slaved 2000i
generators on the back of his pickup, right underneath our antennas. We
DO need the two-section #31 ferrite choke that we jointly designed for
our operations in the remote (RF quiet) places in rare counties where we
set up. That choke was added to the ARRL Handbook several years ago, and
is shown on page 23 of http://k9yc.com/RFI-Ham.pdf
BTW -- it's been my experience that Tom hears quite well, on 160M at
least. He hears me QRP during contests.
