PropView, which is free, uses the IONCAP engine to generate 24 hour
QST-style propagation forecasts between your QTH and any designated
location (callsign, prefix, grid, lat/lon, IOTA tag. You scan switch
between shortpath and longpath forecasts with a single mouse click. See
http://www.qsl.net/propview/propview.jpg for sample forecast.

DXView, which is also free, interoperates with PropView; it provides a
world map display that depicts your location, the designated location,
and the solar terminator. Shortpath and longpath headings are displayed,
and can be conveyed to a PC-controlled rotator with a single mouse
click. A screen shot of DXView's World Map window is available in
http://www.qsl.net/dxview/WorldMap.jpg . DXView's world map also
displays the auroral regions (as a function of the current K-index) and
DX spots, which can be filtered by band, mode, continent, and spotter
location.

PropView can also monitor the IARU/NCDXF HF beacon network to assess
actual propagation on the 10m, 12m, 15m, 17m, and 20m bands. PropView
will interoperate with Commander to automatically QSY your transceiver
to monitor each beacon according to a schedule you assemble.

PropView, DXView, and Commander are all members of the DXLab Suite -- a
set of free applications that automatically detect each other's presence
and interoperate accordingly. These applications are all available via
http://www.qsl.net/dxlab/download.htm ; online documentation is also
available via this site, so you can assess each any application before
downloading and installing it.

    73,

        Dave, AA6YQ
