Yes, we do know pricing!
We have been saying for some time that the Ubicom board, with PoE, inside a
flat panel antenna will sell for $299 list. This INCLUDES software
(TurboCell and bridging only - remember, not much processor to work with)and
PoE injector with power supply. Expect street price to be somewhat lower.

Kevin,
I don't think there's any question, I just want to do that now, with
Karlnet CPE's. I think sub $200 install is the key in my market, so I hope
the new Karlnet option is around the $250-$275 mark with antenna so we don't
have to eat too much of the install cost to hit that mark.
Insight cable in my market is $44.95 per month ($10 less if you are
already a cable customer) and $129 to buy a cable modem or $15 a month
rental. Assisted install (who knows what that means) is $29 and premium
install is $99.
I have to be somewhere in that ballpark to be competitive. With a
nearly $400 CPE cost currently, I can't even compete. I am doing well with
business customers, but virtually the only residential I have are the owners
of the businesses I have at home.
The installation fees are the killer. I offer DSL service at $70 a
month (frickin' Verizon gets $40 of that) with a $110 install including
modem. Nearly every day people opt for that service rather than the same
speed wireless for $45 a month with a $400 install. I am convinced that my
only shot is a lower priced install. I have thought long and hard about
going the NDIS route, but then we end up supporting Microsoft Internet
Connection Sharing as most customers have more than one pc. I am hoping the
UBICOM option will get me near NDIS pricing (once you include the lmr cable,
etc).
Can you tell us anything about final pricing yet?
