Removing a QSO (deleting it from the log) is very different than tagging it
with X-QSO.

QSOs should never be removed from a log. They can be tagged with X-QSO and let
log checking deal with it. Log checking has a lot more data that any
participant.

Since the K3EH call sign in the first QSO was not corrected, it should be
logged as such. If you doubt the call and want to avoid a busted call penalty,
then tag it with X-QSO, but do not remove it. Don't over think it and don't
worry about the 9-call station getting undeserved QSO credit (assuming he
didn't correct his call as sent by you). Stuff happens. Log checking is
seldom perfect. There are undeserved credits and underserved reductions that
net out across the log. That's life. Log checking does a good job, but not
perfect. The OOF (Order of Finish ) is seldom changed by these aberrations.

It's the participant's responsibility to submit a log that accurately reflects
what transpired from the participant's perspective. The participant's
perspective should not include consultation with databases like qrz.com. Only
information obtained over the air during the contest period should be used. It
is log checking's responsibility to sort out the information submitted in the
logs.
