This newer generation of Hams are not like we were (1975) They want
results NOW!
To do a contest and have to wait 8 months for the results is a absolute
NO-GO!
Prime example how many here have seen messages.....
"Geez I took my test Saturday, and now it's Wednesday, How come I don't
have my License yet"?
Un-like when we started. I took my Novice test in March. The License
finally arrived Sept 15th.

The next generation that this great hobby/service is entrusted to are far more
comfortable and engaged in an online presence than those of us who have been around
for a few decades. I’m 79, first licensed in 1962.
The online scoreboard, the chat channels running alongside, contests within
contests, results at most in days not months as are currently based on fading
magazines publishing schedules and page counts are where the future lies.
If we care about this amazing hobby going forward we might want to embrace
these new realities even if we may not fully understand the nuances.

I'm far from a top op but don't really have much interest in the online
scoreboard and don't have any plans to fo them anytime soon
Hope they don't become manidory. Just one more thing to add to the
complexity of contesting to scare off new ops.
