To remain a jointly cooperative contest as in the past, precedent is that
RAC & ARRL sections are the multipliers, as determined by their respective
national societies.
2012: Sept. 1, Ontario section split into 4 sections (ONN, ONE, ONS,
GTA). The Nov. 2012 SS included the 4 Ontario sections (83 for clean
sweep).
2020: Apr 1, Prince Edward Island (PE) split from Maritimes section.
The Nov. 2020 SS included the new PE section (now 84 for clean sweep).
2023: Jan. 1, RAC section boundaries and names changed. The Nov. 2023
SS included the changes (maintained 84 for clean sweep).
2025: Jul 1, Yukon split from TER (NWT,NU/YT). Apparently the Nov. 2025
SS will not include this change. Note that the time to implement this
change is greater than the more comprehensive changes in 2012.
It’s sad that this long chain of cooperative history and mutual respect is
being broken this year.

RAC and ARRL are separate organizations and moving at different speeds (in
this case). Personally, i would like to see ARRL use Canadian provinces
instead of RAC sections.
It is funny how so much of the energy for Sweepstakes comes from making a
clean sweep rather than max score. That does put a very small number of
northern Canadians in demand. Now we will have one less, but the hunt for
the sweep will continue.

Well, that seals it. YT will not be on for sweeps. Frankly, it's insulting.
I am not one to dwell on geo-political matters, but this is beyond the
pale. The rules are quite clear.
Maybe see you in 2026.

From August 28 ARRL Letter:
" In response to the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC)'s recent addition of a
new Yukon Section, the ARRL Contest Advisory Committee is reviewing
Canadian
Section multipliers for ARRL contests that use Sections as multipliers.
While this review is ongoing, the 2024 multiplier list will be used for the
remainder of 2025. Stations located in Yukon should continue to send "TER"
(Territories) for the 2025 November Sweepstakes CW/SSB and ARRL 160-Meter
Contests. In Sweepstakes, stations in the United States and Canada
(including territories and possessions) exchange information with as many
other US and Canadian stations as possible on the 160-, 80-, 40-, 20-, 15-
and 10-meter bands. The 2025 ARRL November Sweepstakes will be active the
first full weekend of the month (November 1 - 3) for CW and the third full
weekend (November 15 - 17) for phone."

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Does ARRL read the mail? ...Sec abbreviation for
Yukon
(YT)
So, we are about 5 weeks away from CW sweeps and I do not see an updated
section abbreviation for Yukon...hopefully ARRL puts out something soon
(maybe they did and I missed it) so the logging program folks can update
their software. Otherwise there will be a lot of ?? AGN?? going on when you
hear YT.
I'm hoping to bring in some high-priced, but underpaid, help...stay tuned
for that.
Happy Fall, everyone.
