G'day Jorge:
1. What is this 'DX Window' of which you speak? DX Windows were
eliminated from all bandplans years ago, and the CQ 160 rules make no
reference at all to a DX Window. The only remaining reference to them
is in the ARRL 160 rules, which say "The segment 1.830 to 1.835 should
be used for intercontinental QSOs only." PJ2T typically logs >99%
intercontinental QSOs in CQWW 160 CW, as PJ2T is in South America. I
was in favor of DX Windows, but they are gone now, and will not be
coming back.
I realize that stations on 'mainland South America' have a tough time
on Topband, as we at PJ2T face the some of the same issues of distance,
equatorial noise, and stormy weather patterns: that is the challenge of
Topband. There is little reason to establish a 'hunting preserve' of
'tame' DX stations to be worked by those in North America and Europe.
2. I take offense to the idea that PJ2T not a "real DX
station"! Those who log it in contests or use QSOs with PJ2T for DXCC
credit consider it a 'real DX station'. That we are (generally) loud
and (generally) able to hear weak signals and have been successful as a
station on Topband is due to a lot of hard work by many people over the
past 15 years. We don't have 'deep pockets' investors to build a
"powerhouse". It has been done with time, people, and personal effort.
PJ2T has only worked over 1500 QSOs in CQWW 160 CW once: in 2007 (1516
QSOs). Usually we are closer to 1100-1200 hard-won QSOs, made through
noise and strong QRM in the USA and Europe. It is always hard work.

and what about the DX windows?
Will be good if stations like PJ2T, NP2J, and others from Caribbean
left this windows for real DX stations. This stations works more than
1500 qsos!
OH, yes, of course, is not a USA working USA, but will be good a dx
windows for small dx stations

It's still location, location., I feel.. I have a low dipole,
and a looong one.. and a vertical.. on a steel roof (over 1600 sq ft)..
and it is still two against one.. just pick a time.. and my main point
is.. the middle of the country has a narrow window that is less
affected by both coasts.. and .. fewer folks to work, in that time
frame.. But.. am I recommending any change? NO.. NOT AT ALL.. it is
what it is..
Have a great day,
