Zero points for your own country is not detrimental to CQ WW, rather it's 
fundamental to it.  Note the World-Wide aspect to the title.  This is a DX 
contest.  It promotes interest in travelling to and activating rare 
entities, for those interested in making a winning entry.  The activation of 
these rare entities is at the core of the success of these events.  Tilt the 
table away from DX and towards domestic and you have an entirely different 
contest.  Considering that CQWW has for decades been contesting's best 
supported event, such a move would seem to be just plain silly.
