Point taken, Ted. I have nothing against complexity when it is needed, but 
LoTW is an example of overkill. We all have only so much energy to spend so 
how about simplifying things where possible? Let's spend that extra time 
and energy chasing DX or contesting!

It has nothing to do with 'dumbing down', in fact just the opposite. A 
programmer - a GOOD programmer - will spend extra time and effort to make 
his product as user friendly as possible while still accomplishing his goals.

Did you read the email from UA9CDC? There are a lot of stations who will 
not use LoTW because of it's complexity. Those of us who do use it are 
missing out on QSLs because of it.
