Hey Kevin: I disagree with your comment. I have two hf amps using the 8877 and
they both operate very quietly without use of humongous blower. One of them is
the Viewstar PT-3000A and other one is the alpha 9500.

No way a pair or trio of 3-500Z's does 1500W FM/RTTY key down all day.
An 8877 won't do it either without having a very big, very loud blower.
