Come on Jim, Lew? Is this true or not?
Do I have to get a building permit to string up a 40 meter
dipole? You are saying "must", "must", "LAW", "ILLEGAL".
You're throwing the words around. Is that really what you meant?
Is there a loophole for amateur radio? (It appears not if the
all-consuming NEC have their foot on our necks already).
Help!
NOBODY said anything about a building permit, however there are codes that
pertain to the dipole antenna wire size and type of wire used. I guess if
your dipole fell down and managed to kill somebody and their family called
1-800-LAWYER he'd check to see if you followed article 800 of the NEC for the
erection of that dipole, if you did it against code that would be bad for your
defense. Lou
