The only tube I ever had blow during a contest was a 3CX1200 in my Ameritron amp of the same name. It was replaced under warranty with no problems. To the best of my knowledge that is the only amp which uses one and it (the amp, not the tube) is definitely not suitable for legal limit RTTY contesting.
