If you take away the nostalgia factor, there are better tubes available, IMO.
For about the price of a pair of 813s you can get a single 3-500z
with twice the plate dissipation, only one hole to drill and a
perfect mate for today's 100 watt transceivers if you run it in GG.
But nostalgia has it's place, too. :-)
