Maxwell is indeed alive. They are the General Atomics Energy Products
Division of Sorrento Electronics. Its a long story and the names have
changed a lot. But some of the same folks are there. Heres their link: http://www.hvpower.com/ Ask engineering for specs on your caps, however, they may be so old that they have only a simple spec like photoflash application. I have some nice 40 uF 5 kV caps that were surplus, pulse caps, which they said should be fine and dandy for 60 Hz power supply filtering/DC stored energy. John K5PRO Maxwell is alive and well in San Diego.
