High level technical and managerial appointments are typically published in
trade rags like
Microwaves and RF magazine. If anyone knows about when Mr. Miklos was promoted
(actually or allegedly) to the position of R&D Manager, they might want to
check out the
back issues, or perhaps call someone at Microwaves and RF. His more recent
appointment
at Triton might be easier to find and would most likely mention his previous
work at Eimac.
BTW, his bio the ARRL UHF/Microwave Experimenters Manual mentions his position
as
R&D Manager at Eimac. If Mr. Miklos is a fraud, then he has been clever enough
to fool
some pretty good company (WB5LUA, N6TX, WA2GFP, K2UYH,AJ3K, etc). The only
technical publication I could find attributable to him on the internet using
InfoSeek was
from the Proceedings of the 1992 Central States VHF Conference,High Power RF
Techniques
for UHF Systems Buzz Miklos, WA4GPM.
>From the other InfoSeek hits that I obtained, it would appear that Mr. Miklos
>is active in
amateur VHF/UHF circles.
Just my 2 cents.

? What is HR? // The person I spoke with was an employee in the
Varian/Eimac SLC facility's personnel office. A quite likely incentive
to give accurate information is the possiblility of job termination for
having given bad information.

? I have seen nothing from Mr. Miklos. Tom Rauch did all of the
talking. Tom said that Miklos would show up in January, 1997 and enter
the debate. I await. If Miklos shows up, one of the first questions
from yours truly will be whether or not he agrees with Mr. Rauch's
somewhat unique method of calculating grid-dissipation by multiplying
peak grid current by rms grid-cathode volts? [sic]
>Rotten bad form, old chap... can't you see that?
? I repeated what the personnel dept. told me. Bad form would
seemingly have been to adjust what she told me. // What evidence do you
have that Miklos was other than an Engineer B at Varian/Eimac? Would
you like to have the telephone number of the SLC facility personnel
office so that you can find out first-hand, Ian?
- cheers
Rich...
