The line cord DC resistance should be low.
Does the ten tec warm up the tubes BEFORE applying HV to give them a
chance to de-gas?
Did you try disconnected the anode leads and applying power to see if
it's the tubes?
Ten Tec didn't use a grid overload circuit in some amps, and that
allows the users to cook off some of the gold. Sometimes the gold
causes a HV to grid failure.
If it is the tubes, I'd install a grid overload system in the amp!!
A few dollars worth of parts is a good insurance policy, and a fuse
WILL NOT do the job.
