Comments:
Solar X-rays at A6-level with a tiny A9 boost
for the daylight zone after 1930Z. Started on
7 MHz for ten minutes, and then found a lot of
new USA-stations on 14 MHz. Went back to 7 MHz
at the end in the hope for a private pile-up,
but no reply at all. Only found Waddy UX2HB.
The 1300Z session weakness was most likely due
to a diffuse Es-layer, as SE0B was booming in
on 14 MHz short range. Our buddy Rhino OH5RP
is quite active on SOTA, and he reports to
get rarely into the HB9/OE-region during
Summer on 14 MHz, while for MUF it should be
an easy distance via the F-layer. I see similar
behavior of Es-screening in CWT and HF-contests.
