   Personally I would really like to get the Stew Perry contest out of 
the end-of-year holiday period.  It is almost impossible for me to 
manage end-of-year workload and family obligations such that I can 
devote a weekend night to a serious contest.

   I am less concerned about October vs any other month.  The first 
weekend after January 2nd would be fine, for example.
