I think you GREATLY underestimate the difficulty of incorporating 
effective speech recognition into any logging software, given the noisy 
environment.  Speech is far, far more complex than single tones and 
therefore much, much more difficult to separate from noise.  The 
required bandwidth alone compared to CW (roughly 20:1) should tell you that.
