I went through 3 or 4 different cards (including Edirol, EMU and others) before finding the Audiophile 2496 PCI. It works well and is very kind to CPU usage. The only problem I had was that the recommended driver for XP SP3 on the M-Audio site would not work. I backed up one version which works well (5.10.00.5069v3 ). 73, Bill W4ZV
