[Skimmertalk] Skimmer and Live Audio

I've been assuming that "SNR" actually means signal/noise ratio, and not 
absolute signal strength.  Is that correct?  If so, the SNR displayed by 
CW SKimmer could have quite a bit a variability on the low bands from 
one instant of time to another simply because of storm static hundreds 
of miles from the receiving station, regardless of differences at the 
transmitting end.

Also ... is it pretty much assumed that the Skimmers feeding DX Watch 
all use omnidirectional antennas?
