Pete, you cannot use the word Skimmer to disguise the fact that a
receiver is involved and you have the ability to use that receiver on 
another
 continent copy callsigns. The receiver does not have to be an SDR.
It can be a FT-1000MP.

 If you use a receiver in conjunction with Skimmer and the receiver used
 in conjunction with Skimmer is more than 500M from the transmit 
antenna, it is a remote
 receiver. How does the use of a code reader with a remote receiver 
(receiver
 located more than 500M from the transmit antennas) make it not a remote 
receiver?

 What difference does it make how often a callsign is shown?  If Alex
 decided to change it to show the callsigns more often would you then 
have a problem with
 it?

 As I have said many times, I would have more respect for someone who
 actually tuned a receiver located in Europe and copied the callsigns 
heard than for
 someone who used a remote receiver with a code reader called Skimmer 
and had the computer
 screen fill with callsigns copied by the code reader from a remote 
receiver and
 filtered by SCP.

 Are you saying you cannot put the Skimmer program in the mode of 
copying
 all callsigns as opposed to verified ones?  The version I have will do 
that.  If it
 won't do it for you, there are plenty of code readers that will and 
just because they are not
 called Skimmer does not make them illegal.

 Everyone knows what a remote receiving operation looks like and knows 
it
 is not allowed in the rules.  Defining a receiver because it is used in
 conjunction with a program called Skimmer which is directly feeding you 
information as not being a
 remote receiver if located on another continent does create a problem. 
You are correct
 in saying that Skimmer isn't part of the problem.  It is the whole 
problem.
