I did that some years ago. One has to be extremely careful so as to avoid any ground loops or any noise on the Audio In line from the PK-232. Seems that I did construct a 20 dB attenuator to operate between the PK-232 output and the Audio In of the radio. This attenuator was physically at the connector that plugged into the radio. This kept the signal to noise ratio much higher on the cable between the PK-232 and the radio. I did not find any issues with the SSB audio. However, BE SURE that the mike is not hot or on otherwise any noise in the room will also be transmitted.

Without my manual in front of me, I recall the Audio In is only isolated by a 10K series resistor which feeds the MIC input circuit.. In effect the MIC input and the Audio In are "hot" or active all the time.

Anyone out there using the Audio in, Audio out, and PTT on the paragon's rear
panel hooked to a PK232?
If so, having any issues during normal SSB operation with the audio in plug
remaining plugged in?

Can reply to me directly at wd9hdq@arrl.net

Thanks.
