Don't know if Astron supplies are "everything they could be", but have been using the same VS-50M for 23 years now, with no problems until just a couple of weeks ago when the power on/off switch finally broke internally after all the switching on & off over the years. Called Astron to order a new switch, and they sent one, no charge for the switch or for mailing.

I would like to return to the original question...

What is the "best" power supply for the purpose ?

If Astron supplies are not everything they could be... what is?
