I have the original Paragon and the clock seems to change by an hour at random times. I run it on GMT (UTC) and I have to reset it fairly often.

I wrote the firmware for the Paragon II. The clock chip is programmable with a daylight savings time option bit. This setting is always turned off in the Paragon II. So the Paragon II will never change its clock for DST.

Clock "problem" may be the daylight saving time spring advance and and fall back times that are "hard coded" to execute based upon advancing the time one hour at 0100 the last Sunday in April and to fall back one hour at 0200 the last Sunday in October. This was verified (by me) during research for the Millennium rollover. The clock chip is a Motorola IC with no options to deactivate the advance and set back.

I'm a previous owner of a Paragon II. Great radio.... just run a separate clock for logging!

Tentec Paragon II station for sale. Model 586. This is a highly desirable Paragon II model and is considered an equivalent to higher priced transceivers today. It has all the available filters installed and is supplied with the matching Tentec 961 power supply/speaker and Tentec desk mike. Also, the original boxes and manual are available. The station was operated in a non-smoking environment. The receiver is general coverage, 300 Khz to 30 Mhz. Modification to allow the transmitter to operate between 1.8 and 30 Mhz has been made, thus it covers the new 60 meter band.

Equipment is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition and has no scratches. The station clock is erratic at times, but this does not affect the operation of the transceiver.

Will consider selling Paragon II by itself.

If you are a C.W. operator, this is your dream set-up. Price $900.00 shipped and insured to lower 48 only. Contact Peter, W8US, at W8us@comcast.net.
