Any half wave antenna is going to be low impedance at its center on the design band, and high impedance on other bands, except perhaps the third harmonic, etc. The pickup of line noise by a horizontal dipole has more to do with imbalance and coupling of signal into the vertical coax or feeder from vetically polarized urban noise sources in the electrical infrastructure. The bazooka claimed wider bandwidth by its materials, but analysis showed it was no better than a similar diameter wire. -Stuart Rohre K5KVH _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/tentec |
