This is where I buy my Bird slugs. Some 30 of them so far and not a bummer in the bunch.

Donald -

I have a 2,5 KW slug for the Thruline Bird Wattmeter. It is GOOD, clean and absolutely nothing wrong with it. Sold my Titan amp so my 1 KW slug is in
use instead, for my 500 Watt amp.

Interested? Not cheap.....

OK, OK - so I made a little mistake - sounded like a good thing !
Thanks for correcting me - Now you can buy my slug and use it
correctly.

I am looking for a 1000H slug - 1000w. 2-30 Mhz - anyone out there
have one for sale? And no, I do not want to use it for reverse
power only.

Jerry is absolute correct. If one wishes to measure reflected power then
the slug to correctly use is the one that will also measure the forward
power. Thus if forward power is 500 watts then that slug should be used
to
measure reflected power. Don't try to get "magnification" of reflected
power by using a lower power slug. It's bad on the slugs.

Perfect for Reverse Power (SWR) Adjustments.
No dings or scratches - comes in protective plastic case.

Please reply direct. Donald, K6RV

Not necessarily perfect for reverse power adjustments. The directivity
of the element may mean the forward power is coupled to the diode, but
only 30 dB down if that much and that can confuse the reflected power
indication to get a cancellation only when the load isn't 50 ohms.
Beyond that the lack of perfect directivity can easily over drive the
element. And then the diode can go bad without even venting any smoke.
